Michelin-starred\u00a0chef<\/a>\u00a0Alain Ducasse has opened up a restaurant in the UAE for the first time, and we can’t wait to try it.<\/span><\/p>\n

miX by Alain Ducasse is now open at\u00a0Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai<\/a>\u00a0on Palm Jumeirah and\u00a0Time Out Dubai\u2019s been for a look around the massive space. And as you can see from our photos, the interiors are impressive.<\/span><\/p>\n

The restaurant, from the chef behind the three-Michelin-starred Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester in London, is spread over three floors.<\/span><\/p>\n

miX offers up sea views as well as fancy d\u00e9cor \u2013 including a giant Faberg\u00e9 egg. The massive, golden egg sits in the centre of the space, spanning all three floors. The 500 sq m venue seats up to 400 diners and aims to convey the \u201cspace between dream and reality\u201d, with a flowing ceiling of transparent acrylic tubes. There\u2019s also al fresco dining with 360-degree views of Dubai from the\u00a0Palm<\/a>vantage spot.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking for a drink there\u2019s miX Bar & Lounge, which has a wide grape and mixed beverage list and promises a laid-back vibe. It also serves up sharing plates including sea bream ceviche, wagyu beef and green pepper and a crab club sandwich.<\/span><\/p>\n

Or for something even more swish, there\u2019s also a private chef\u2019s table on the top level, which is accessed through a private lift.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ducasse has restaurants all over the world including in London, Paris, St Tropez, Las Vegas, Tokyo and New York. The menu in Dubai includes French cuisine with local and international influences, with dishes such as marinated raw blue shrimps, caviar and pan-seared foie gras. The kitchen team is lead by chef de cuisine Hugues Gerard, who trained under Ducasse.<\/span><\/p>\n

miX joins\u00a0all\u2019onda<\/a>, which also opened recently in the hotel. The Venetian-style\u00a0Italian<\/a>, from US chef Chris Jaekle, serves \u201ctraditional dishes with a twist\u201d and covers the whole top floor of the hotel. The 108-seat indoor restaurant even depicts a boat shaped structure, and is kitted out with wooden gondolas and oars, to make you (kind of) feel as if you\u2019re on the Grand Canal.<\/span><\/p>\n

It serves up dishes that blend Italian and Venetian cuisine with Japanese influences with highlights on the menu including buffalo ricotta ravioli with vine tomato sauce and basil, peppered beef tagliata with soft burrata and a herby pangrattato, ossobuco with saffron risotto and risotto all\u2019onda, made with madras curry, prawns and shiso.<\/span><\/p>\n

Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai opened at the end of November. Located on the West Crescent, the 100,000 sq m beach resort has 389 rooms and suites, eight top restaurants and bars, a 3,000 sq m spa, a state-of the-art gym and yoga studio, a 500m private beach and an 80-seat private cinema. The super-swanky interiors of the hotel are inspired by the 18th century and the ballroom even comes walls in hand-painted gold leaf.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other restaurants include Le Jardin, a buffet restaurant serving breakfast and dinner,\u00a0Villamor\u00e9<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 a laid-back Mediterranean restaurant and lounge as well as Matagi, a \u201cstylish, contemporary Asian dining destination\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n
